“During the cold snap over the winter period, the heating in a number of courts stopped working. One of my cases the court in Leeds closed as they could not repair the problem in time. Other courts within London that I attended had hired large-scale heaters to resolve the issue.

“In theory, [Common Platform] contains all the details of each case so all stakeholders — lawyers for prosecution and defence, as well as the court — can access it. However, in my experience, more often than not when the exact identifier is used, no information is forthcoming.”
