Partner Amjid Jabbar acted for a client who was found Not Guilty of murder and manslaughter following a 10-week trial concerning the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old man outside a nightclub near Wembley Stadium.

Stokoe Partnership was instructed less than six weeks before trial, after the client’s previous solicitors became professionally embarrassed and were unable to continue acting.

The client was one of four men accused of murder, with “cut-throat” defences as to the identity of the shooter. Despite the limited time available, Amjid and the defence team conducted a detailed review of the Crown’s case, including a frame-by-frame analysis of the CCTV evidence.

Through careful analysis, the defence identified additional footage which had been missed by the Crown and arranged for it to be enhanced. The detailed work undertaken by Amjid and the defence team proved significant in challenging the prosecution’s analysis, demonstrating that the case had been brought against the wrong defendant and establishing that the client was not responsible for the fatal shooting.

Following the 10-week trial, he was found Not Guilty of both murder and manslaughter.

Stokoe Partnership Solicitors, led by Amjid Jabbar, instructed David Rhodes KC of Doughty Street Chambers, leading Katherine Lloyd of QEB Hollis Whiteman.
