Specialist criminal defence and litigation boutique law firm, Stokoe Partnership Solicitors, today announces the appointment of two new solicitors, Abigail Ashford from Reeds Solicitors and Antony Lane from law firm Leslie Franks.

These appointments follow the lateral hire of partner and specialist financial crime and extradition solicitor Richard Cannon, from Gunnercooke, in April.

Abigail Ashford joins as a solicitor advocate, and will be based in the firm’s Central London offices. She specialises in criminal defence work and provides advice and representation across the full spectrum of criminal offences, but primarily complex and serious crime brought before the Crown Court. She is frequently sought by clients for her expertise in handling sensitive or high-profile cases, and often those which involve vulnerable defendants.

Abigail’s practice also includes instructions in cases which involve prosecutorial bodies including Trading Standards, HMRC and the Serious Fraud Office, defending those involved in complex white collar financial crime proceedings.

Abigail commented: “I am delighted to have joined the team at Stokoe Partnership Solicitors. The firm has a formidable reputation in criminal defence and I am excited at the prospect of adding to this.”

Antony Lane brings with him over 14 years’ experience of defending his clients accused of criminal offences at all stages of the criminal justice system. He has extensive experience across a broad range of criminal offences and specialises in those cases which are particularly sensitive, complex or serious.

Antony commented: “I have dedicated my career to criminal defence and I am looking forward to continuing this with the excellent team at Stokoe.”

Commenting on Abigail and Antony’s appointments, founding partner Bambos Tsiattalou said: “We are delighted to welcome Abigail and Antony to Stokoe. Their expertise will further strengthen our firm’s criminal defence practice and ensure that our rapidly growing client roster will continue to receive best in class representation.”

Stokoe Partnership Solicitors is a leading criminal defence firm with expertise across the full range of criminal defence matters. The firm also has a burgeoning civil litigation practice, and most recently is involved in the high-profile litigation brought against international law firm Dechert LLP and its former partner Neil Gerrard for human rights abuses amounting to torture, on behalf of two political prisoners currently detained in Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven emirates which form the UAE.

The firm now comprises six partners and a team of 13 across its three offices in Central London, East London and Manchester.
