Partner Richard Cannon comments in Compliance Week and Law360 in relation to the Court of Appeal’s recent decision to overturn the bribery conviction of a former Unaoil Group manager.

Richard’s comments were published in Compliance Week and Law360, 13 December 2021, here and here.

The Court found that the Serious Fraud Office committed a “serious failure” in refusing to turn over evidence that would have helped him at trial.

Partner Richard Cannon commented:

“This is another bad news day for the SFO. The findings of the Court of Appeal are damning and go to personal and organisational misconduct. The existential threat to the SFO now looms large again.”
