Bambos’ comments were published in The Times, both online and in print, and The Law Society Gazette, February 2026.

The collapse of the SFO’s decade-long London Mining prosecution has renewed scrutiny of the agency’s handling of complex fraud cases. Bambos explains:“The decision to abandon a decade-long bribery prosecution, and to revisit around 20 other cases due to disclosure failures, is more than an isolated setback – it is a serious blow to the SFO’s credibility.”
