On 19 September Dr Dusko Knezevic voluntarily attended City of London Magistrates’ Court for the commencement of extradition proceedings, pursuant to an extradition request issued by the Montenegrin government. Dr Knezevic made it clear to the court that he did not consent to his extradition. Dr Knezevic was then granted bail by the judge and a further hearing will take place in due course.

Dr Knezevic expresses his full confidence in the UK extradition process. He will contest the proceedings fully because the fabricated allegations maliciously made against him are politically motivated and it would be impossible for him to receive a fair trial were he to return to Montenegro at this time.
