Helen White joined the Firm in 2021 having practiced mainly in the North West and Yorkshire Regions.

Helen is a specialist criminal defence lawyer defending all ranges of serious criminal offences, including fraud, serious and violent crime, murder, robbery & armed robbery, sexual offences, coercive control, domestic violence, human trafficking and gang-related crime.

Helen deals with all offences from theft through to murder in the police station and beyond, maintaining a hands on, detailed approach during criminal proceedings in the Magistrates’ and Crown Courts.

Helen is well sought after by her nationwide client base and has specialist knowledge of financial crime under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) defending forfeiture and detention of cash hearings in the Magistrates’ Court and onward confiscation proceedings in the Crown Court. Helen also has significant experience dealing with Human Rights matters.

Helen was a finalist in the criminal defence category, Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year 2018 and was the only Lawyer outside of London to be shortlisted in all categories.  Helen has also been listed repeatedly in The Legal 500 and more recently as a “Key Lawyer” in the 2020 Legal 500 Yorkshire & Humber Regions.
