Partner Richard Cannon comments on the news that a judge at Westminster Magistrates’ Court has ruled that Mike Lynch can be extradited to the US, in The Times.

Richard’s comments were published in The Times, 23 July 2021, and can be found here. They were also published in Verdict, 23 July 2021, and Law360, 27 July 2021.

“This is far from the end of the road. Each case where the Forum Bar is engaged in an attempt to avoid extradition to US turns on its own specific facts. The Administrative Court where appeals from the Magistrates Court are heard, has been more prepared in recent years to intervene and overturn decisions made in the lower court in favour of extradition. Any appeal would not be heard until at least much later in the year, perhaps well into 2022.”
